Three pathways

Three ways VIBE work can travel.

VIBE is designed so that student work accumulates into a portfolio that can support college applications, scholarship bids, and early career conversations. Credit recognition varies by institution.

Credit recognition (where implemented)

VIBE does not grant academic credit directly. We provide documentation and frameworks that participating schools and districts can use to award credit through their existing mechanisms. Some districts may classify VIBE participation as elective credit. Community colleges in states with dual-enrollment agreements may accept portfolio evidence. Check with your local institution.

Portfolio pathway

Every VIBE student leaves with a documented project and a three-minute presentation recording. We help students frame this as college application material — demonstrated initiative with real tools.

Transcript notation (where available)

We are working with districts to explore adding VIBE to official high school transcripts as a recognized extracurricular or elective. Some states have career exploration or work-based learning credit categories that VIBE may fit. Availability depends on your state and district policies.

Digital badges

Stackable credentials that travel with the student.

Badges are issued by VIBE Afterschool and represent participation milestones. Institutional recognition of badges varies by school and employer. Each badge represents demonstrated work, not seat time.

VIBE Builder

Shipped one working project using AI as a collaborator.

VIBE Presenter

Delivered a three-minute showcase presentation to a public audience.

VIBE Advanced

Completed a second semester with an ambitious, multi-week project.

VIBE Mentor

Returned as a peer mentor to guide the next cohort of students.

Portfolio guide

Build the portfolio admissions offices want to see.

Colleges increasingly value demonstrated work over test scores alone. VIBE students produce exactly the evidence of initiative and skill that stands out.

Document as you build.

Screenshots, progress notes, decision logs. The process matters as much as the final product. Show how you used AI as a collaborator, not a shortcut.

Record your showcase presentation.

Three minutes on what you built, why it matters, and what you learned. This recording becomes a reusable asset for applications, interviews, and scholarship essays.

Collect mentor endorsements.

A brief written note from each mentor you worked with. Professional endorsements at fifteen carry weight that few applicants can match.

Frame it for the audience.

We provide a portfolio template that helps students present their VIBE work in the format college admissions, scholarship committees, and employers expect.

Higher education partnerships

For colleges and universities.

We are building relationships with community colleges and universities interested in recognizing VIBE participation. If you represent a higher-ed institution, here are ways to explore recognition pathways.

Admissions

Recognize VIBE on applications

Add VIBE Afterschool to your list of recognized extracurricular programs. Students with VIBE Builder or VIBE Advanced badges have demonstrated initiative beyond coursework.

Scholarships

VIBE scholarship consideration

Include VIBE completion as a factor in merit scholarship decisions. These students have shipped real projects and built professional networks before graduating high school.

Dual enrollment

Explore elective credit

Community colleges may be able to award 1–3 credits for a completed VIBE semester, depending on state and institutional policies. We provide a standardized rubric covering project quality, collaboration, and presentation.

Pipeline

Early access to talent

VIBE showcases are open to university representatives. Meet students early, see their work firsthand, and build a relationship before the application cycle.

The long game

The best marketing for the program is a student who came back to mentor the next cohort. Alumni are how VIBE scales without losing its soul.

VIBE Alumni Network

Students who complete a VIBE semester can return as peer mentors the next semester, earning the VIBE Mentor badge. This creates a self-sustaining loop: the program grows its own leadership.

Alumni stories become the most powerful case for why the program works. Where they went, what they studied, how they credit the experience. We track and share these stories with the permission of each student.

Over time, we are building a network of young professionals who started building early, connected with mentors early, and learned to use AI as a tool before most of their peers knew it existed.
